Live Your Best Life in 2018!

It’s a New Year!!!

Welcome to 2018! This year I KNOW you’re going to crush those goals!

Have you made any New Year's resolutions? If you did, you’ve probably heard a bunch of people who are suddenly against these resolutions.

Why are people so against them?? Because most people think they're a waste of time.

Usually we make new goals… start off the year really crushing those goals… and then somewhere around March or sometimes even sooner than that, we just… stop caring about those goals.

It’s actually something I’ve struggled with, and I’m sure some of you have struggled with too. But why do we give up so easily on our resolutions? What makes us feel like we’ve failed?

Well there are some people who make a new resolution that’s just unrealistic… or they make a resolution but have no plan. And both of these lead to us feeling defeated before we even make it a quarter of the way through the year.

So the easiest solution to this problem would be to set realistic goals that make sense for your life, and to create a plan to reach that goal. It’s super important for you to remember that crazy amounts of money just don’t fall from trees! If you’re goal is to generate $100,000 this year, well you need to have a plan. Maybe you’re plan should include looking for a better paying job, or getting 2 jobs this year. Or maybe it includes you starting a side business, or getting promoted to a better position! Either way, these are all plans you can put in place to help achieve that goal this year. If you don’t have a plan… it’s most likely not going to happen.

Once you create a plan to get towards that  goal, it's up to YOU to make it happen!

Now that you have a plan, it's time to create some tasks that you can do to make that plan work! To go with our example goal above of generating $100,000, if your plans to get there include getting promoted… well I think you and I both know promotions don’t just happen out of nowhere. You’ve got to work hard and do your job like you really LOVE it! Meet deadlines, go above and beyond at your job, and network. The more time you spend on loving your job and giving it your best… well the more likely you’ll get that promotion. And the closer you'll be to reaching that goal of generating $100,000.

So be realistic and take action! Your New Year's resolutions don’t have to end with you feeling defeated or like you’ve wasted another year.

If you weren’t happy with 2017, you’ve got to make changes in yourself, your life, and your routines in order to have a better 2018!

Here's what you need to do if you’re ready to set some great goals for yourself and crush it in 2018! :

  1. Get out a piece of paper and a pen
  2. Write down the top 1-3 goals you want to achieve this year (or more if you’re feeling ambitious!)
  3. Make a plan! How will you achieve those goals?
  4. Break down each goal (or plan) into 5 actionable tasks that you can do to help reach that goal
  5. Make it happen! That means get out your planner or a calendar and write down which days you’re going to do those tasks you came up with!
  6. Set your deadlines. If you want to start a side business to generate that $100,000 this year, which day will you launch it?
  7. Set reminders in your phone to work on those tasks and to remind yourself of your upcoming deadlines
  8. Set reminders to show up on your phone that have encouraging messages to keep you motivated throughout the year!

And most importantly… don’t give up!!! If you do all of these things you’re way more likely to accomplish those goals this year!

But what if I do all this and I don’t reach my goal???

That’s okay! I bet you’ll be A LOT closer to your goal than if you didn’t take these steps! And you’ll feel so much better about your year at the end because of all of the things you DID accomplish even if it wasn’t exactly where you’d originally wanted to be. Any progress is good progress!

To go along with these steps to make sure you achieve your goals in 2018, I have 3 ways that you can stay on track and actually manifest your biggest dreams this year without feeling discouraged in a few months! I’ll share all about it in tomorrow’s post, so stay tuned!
